Yesterday was my 61st birthday. I'm just thrilled to be around to celebrate it. My health hasn't been the best over the past year, but I'm working on improving that, and I count my blessings, which are without number.
Instead of going out on my special day, as our station wagon was in the shop, and the rental car couldn't accommodate my powerchair, we got takeout from Ruby Tuesday's. Chris had shrimp appetizers and I had oriental dumplings. Then as a main course he had mahi-mahi with pesto sauce and I had lobster carbonara on fetuccini. Oh my! What a treat. Not to mention the sex on the beach. Noooooo...not that...it's a drink: banana/pear liqueur and Bailey's cream liqueur in a shot. YUM!
Nefer has decided that lobster is a primary source of purrs. She got a healthy portion in her little bowl. I don't spoil my cat. (I worship her! LOL!!!) Remember that dogs say, "You love me, you feed me...you must be a God," and cats say, "You love me, you feed me...I must be a god."
Chris gave me tanzanite: a diamond and tanzanite pendant on a white gold chain, and matching earrings. Such a pretty shade of violet/blue! Erik sent a book from my Amazon wishlist (The Goddess in the Gospels), and luxurious face cream from the Dead Sea in Israel. My brother sent a gift certificate for Land's End, and I ordered cotton blankets and a bath mat. Others sent money, which I haven't spent yet.
Though I'm still addicted to Second Life, the virtual world, I've started to play in another virtual world, Avination, where Chris has two regions (sims), and I came in to help him landscape and terraform (I'm particularly talented at that). And I am busy at FaceBook and (heaven help me) slightly addicted to Angry Birds and Gardens of Time (a Facebook game).
On top of all that, I have a Kindle, and have read at least fifty books on that. Speaking of books, I've continued to edit books for people who self-publish on the Internet. For pay! Hurray!
So it's been an interesting year, filled with love of family and friends, and patience from my dear Chris, who never complains about tending to my bedbound needs. Life is good!
Waves and hugs to all who will have them!
