Thoughts, Sunblock, New Phone

Not a new thought: Given that my name is all over this LJ, I know it's easy to find. This may be a problem, I don't know. I've always wanted it to be fine. Regardless, a move is inevitable.

I just looked back at some random posts and there are some really funny ones.
Examples: one | two (seriously?) | three

My posts changed after finishing school. Maybe I'll think more on it later. Probably not worth it.

Anyway, I've not posted regularly like I considered, but I just spent the last 4 hours procrastinating on productive life activities (at midnight) by reading old posts, so I will post something new. It's very specific, and if you don't care, it will be boring.

Aveeno Active Naturals Continuous Protection Sunblock Spray SPF 70. It comes in SPF 45 as well. This is the newest sunblock I'm trying, and so far liking.

My understanding is SPF increases your regular time before getting burned. A high SPF is not necessarily stronger protection, it's longer. Also, SPF is based on amount of product per space of skin. If you don't put enough on, you don't get full protection. I also read somewhere that above 30 SPF, sunblocks become much thicker, and 30 is sufficient for most people in most situations. So using really high SPFs isn't usually worth the extra gloopiness. I'd provide links to references if I wasn't in the middle of 3 other things.

This Aveeno product is special for these reasons:
1) Continuous Protection with Active Photobarrier Complex, "[maintaining] broad spectrum protection over time"
1)i. Lasts longer than the usual 2 hours, most of which I'd be sitting inside = useless by lunch or after work
1)ii. Protects from UVA (more damaging) in addition to UVB
2) Spray (less thick and gloopy despite higher SPF and broad spectrum coverage)
3) "oil-free, non-greasy" despite "Moisture-rich soy"? I don't really need moisture...
4) Aerosol spray (implications?)
5) Possible allergens (fragrance, aerosol spray additives) - face has been itching a bit

It doesn't say non-comedogenic, but no obvious breakouts from it yet. Hasn't been 2 weeks, though. It makes my face a bit shiny, but that happens when it's really hot out anyway. Another week or two and we'll know more. I like spray-on sunblocks. Last summer I used another Aveeno spray-on which I liked but is no longer available.

My old phone started answering even if I didn't open it, so I had to get a new phone. I got the Sony Ericsson w580 because it was the only thing cute enough to buy, in my opinion. I dislike current Motorola aesthetics, even tactilely. I got the pink w580 which is glorious (but for how long??). It even has pink lights. Pink, pink, and more pink. Really cute. I gave no consideration to features because frankly I don't care. However, I eventually realized it's a walkman phone, oriented towards being an MP3 player.

Please recall that early this year I broke our 2 MP3 players. We got an ipod, it's nice. I planned, also, to purchase the SanDisk Sansa Clip 4GB when it came out in May for more regular use. It is small AND has a screen (and great sound and is not Apple, otherwise Apple wins on size every time). But instead I got an 8GB memory stick for my phone for less than the Sansa Clip, and now there's no need for another device. Brilliant.

Also, I currently have a super basic data plan including 400 text messages. I'm unsure if I'll keep it. Send me useless text messages.
