Yeah, y'all are right, so far, about the bags.
While the pink bag totally screams ANNI,
it is pink...
My Pucca bag (only picture I could remember having), at least, was red. And while red is also kind of loud, it was just more appropriate.
But, yeah... I'm actually not that much of a fan of Hello Kitty herself. My Melody would certainly take the cake, or Keroppi. But truly, Hello Kitty so far has been the best at pulling off kitchen appliances and daily items. The other ones not so much. Probably because the powers that be do not think the other characters established enough to pull it off, so they don't try.
