More 3-Day Fun
I know some people were talking about coming down to Atlanta for weekend fun and to enjoy some of the 3-Day (just watching, of course!) If you are interested, here are some details you may find helpful:
Friday, October 20th: Opening Ceremonies (North Point Mall, Alpharetta, GA)
6:30 - 7 am - Walkers arrive.
7:30 am - Opening Ceremonies
Driving Directions to North Point Mall:
North Point Mall is located on North Point Circle, easily accessed by GA 400.
From the North: Take GA 400 South to Exit 9, Haynes Bridge Road. Turn right on Haynes Bridge Road. Go approximately 1/2 mile and turn right onto North Point Drive. Turn left on North Point Circle and follow it around to the parking area in front of Dillards.
From the South: Take GA 400 North to Exit 8, Mansell Road. Turn right on Mansell Road. Take the first left onto North Point Parkway. Stay on North Point Parkway for approximately 1/2 mile, and turn left onto Center Bridge Road. Take the first right onto North Point Center East. Turn left onto North Point Circle and follow it around the mall to the parking area in front of Dillards.
Sunday, October 22nd: Closing Ceremonies (Piedmont Park, 400 Park Dr. SE, Atlanta, GA)
Start: 5:30 pm
Spectator Note: Friends, family and supporters should arrive to the Closing Ceremonies site at least one hour early to get the best view of the program. To witness the final victory walk of the 3-Day is truly an experience worth the wait. All walkers and crew members will remain in the Participant Holding area where they will receive their victory shirt, cheer on their fellow walkers and crew members, and reflect on their experience before the dramatic silent victory walk into Closing Ceremonies.

From the North: Take I-75 / I-85 South to exit 250 - towards 16th, 14th, and 10th St. Take the ramp towards 14th / 10th St. Stay straight on to Techwood Dr. Veer left at the fork towards 10th St. Turn left onto 10th St. The park is on the north side of 10th St. NE, past Piedmont Rd. Park on the street where available.
From the South: Take I-85 North to the GA 10 E / Freedom Parkway Exit. Stay right onto Freedom Parkway at fork in exit. Turn left onto Boulevard NE. (at the first stop light). Boulevard becomes Monroe Dr. NE. Turn left onto 10th St. NE. The park is located on the north side of 10th St. NE. Park on the street where available.
There will be no designated spectator parking for the Closing Ceremonies. You will need to park on the street where available.
Karen's Note: If you are planning/considering coming down for any part of the 3-day, PLEASE LET ME KNOW RIGHT AWAY, either in comments or email. By doing this, I can help coordinate between people who are coming down (and when) and making sure they meet up (as well as making sure I meet up with you after the event!) I also have information on lodging in the area if you need it.
