Where am I?

Sorry it's been a while since I blogged.  I promise I won't be as bad as Hutch (I would never want to be dead to the Fitz family).

Last week, I was fully engrossed in work stuff, wedding, and 3-day training.  I'll skip details on the first (except to say that work is dull when Pizza is off in Italy and not at her desk to entertain me) and go briefly into the other two.

Wedding: Erik details on his blog about the addresses.  So no save the dates - expect your invites to arrive sometime in August.  By then, he'll be done with Supreme Chapter, I'll be done with a couple of big projects at work, a trip to LA and a trip to Fort Worth (I'll be there at the last half of Supreme Chapter with my dad, who lives there.  If you're at Supreme Chapter, come meet the man, the myth, the legend - Dr. Bob Vigeland).  The invites came in and totally rock.  We have to update the wedding website with all of the details of the wedding (the URL is on the invites, aren't we modern).  And I have to find another hotel to block rooms at - I initially had two, and one of them has been such a pain in the ass that I pulled the reservation from there.

3-day training: did 22.5 miles this weekend (11.5 miles on Sat/11 on Sun) and I believe I strained my calf muscle a bit and have a pretty rockin' collection of blood blisters.  No workout today.  At the YMCA I work out in during the week, they have a FitLinxx exercise program that lets you accumulate points for your workouts.  Every week, they post the top 25 FitLinxx performers of everyone in the gym.  This week, I'll be in the top 10, and the competitive monster inside me is damn proud of that.  Training has been really hard lately - weekend walks take several hours, plus a couple hours of recovery time afterwards.  I also had to increase my weekday workouts to include more weight training.  The hardest part isn't so much the physical toll - it's the time.  I have no weekend time anymore.  On Saturday evenings, Erik and I both hobble around, exhausted - me from walking, him from baseball.  I look forward to the winter, when neither of us have sports or charity walks or wedding stuff, and he can watch football and I can watch Food Network and we can both be lazy.  Until then, only 95 days until the 3-day.

(Also, on Thursday of last week I attended my first spinning class with Sarah.  I HATED it.  Hard workout but not the hardest I've done.  What I hated was 1) the instructor, who was the same instructor I had for my first and only Pilates class and just as annoying, 2) the seat, because the only part that hurt the next day was my butt/crotch area from the seat, 3) the bike set up, because I couldn't get comfortable with my back, 4) apparently I was doing it wrong, as the instructor had to come over and correct me for a couple of minutes.  No thank you, I will stick to the elliptical.  Have fun, Sarah!)

Here's my schedule for the next few weeks:

This week: training Tu - Th after work.  Cardio & weights.
Friday: Get my hair did, go to the movies to say goodbye to Hippo.
Saturday: My birthday.  My present to myself is not taking a training walk.  Instead, Jamsky and Becky and I will be doing girly wedding stuff.
Sunday: Brunch with mom, training walk.
M-Tu: Training after work.
Wed: Fly to LA for work.  Hopefully be able to work out while I'm there.
Fri: Fly home from LA.
Sat: Fly to Fort Worth.
Thurs the 4th 3rd: Fly home.

By the way, in all seriousness, if you would like to get me a birthday present this year, please don't.  Instead of gifts, please make a donation to the Breast Cancer 3-day.  (This excludes Erik and Becky, the only people I gave ideas to of things I actually need).

To end on a high note, Peter MacNicol (Larry from Numb3rs, the Biscuit from All McBeal, and most importantly Dr. Janosz Poha from Ghostbusters 2) will be on 24 next season!  Don't worry, he'll still be on Numb3rs too.  SUPER SWEET!
