As I said to you offline when I finished reading this it wasn't a pretty sight. I had run out of Kleenex and snot was everywhere and I couldn't see out of my glasses. These two certainly wormed their way under my skin and it was so sad to witness their passing.
Their candles gutted out far too early for any happiness to be found.

But of course you gave us some small ray of hope in Sam and Dean taking up the torch and Sam even preserving their epic story of loss and love and life. And I like to think of them there watching the stars at night together forever in peace at last. Master keeping Child safe from all his demons, maybe even from the gates of hell itself.

* bravo * and I'm crying again.

Well thank you for giving me a well needed shove off that cliff. At least I feel I'm falling with a parachute with your art and support. I'd love to say it was fun to write but it was rather painful. It could never end any other way than together.
If only Sam could have lent me his original it wouldn't have taken me so long to write US ...

I'm so glad you posted this and what a wonderful fitting end to the tale of the two noble princes. Loved the tie in with Sam and Dean. I love your stories! ;)

:D I'm so pleased it worked for you, it's a lovely compliment. I really didn't know how I felt about killing the babies I'd created, or if anyone would read it, so thankyou for commenting. The art is just scrumptious, there are other variations to the banners in the art post - some are a little sadder still than the ones I used, but I'm a sucker for angst!

For me, from the very beginning, this was always how it had to end, I just never expected to be brave enough to write it. Thanks for commenting.

Thank you for ending their story with them fighting and dying together. I cried for the painful beauty of their love leaving their world. I loved the entire story. I will never forget it.

Aha! I am so glad you liked it - since yes, I should probably have mentioned your part in it too. Along with the original art, your comment and my reply, yes that will have kick started my muse whacking me in the shin till I wrote this! I'm really honored that you thought so much of it. *tissue?*

That was simply beautiful. We knew eventually our heroes would die and this was a fitting way to go - taking out the bad guys, saving people, and in the end, together to the last breaths.

And then the hopeful glimpse of new beginnings with the passing of the swords to the young Winchesters. Perfect.

They took chances the way they lived their lives, but always together, so yes, for me this had to be it. I'm really pleased you thought it was apt. Thanks for commenting.
