They were incredible
As usual, the show was perfect. I left a little early, mainly so Gabe could do a few songs for Miranda and not have to feel guilty with me sitting there. It was bad enough that he had to do a few of "our" old songs in front of her.
He didn't want to, but after doing some cover tunes and Tangled Web's music, the audience started yelling out requests for SD's best. Gabe could hardly ignore them, and sang his heart out.
I caught him looking at me several times, and the emotion was all over his face. Thank God he's the professional he is, otherwise it would have been a disaster.
And poor Miranda... having to sit there and listen to her husband... um, fiance sing those words he wrote for me... Couldn't have been easy.
Otherwise, the show was a huge success. Not bad for a spur of the moment decision, and when word got out that Evans and Davidson were on stage, well, people were crowding to get in the door. MTB is always packed, but tonight there was a line all the way down the street! Gabe even opened up the large patio area in the back so that there was places for at least some of them. It was cold, but they didn't seem to mind. The magic of Gabe and Kyle can make you forget you problems.
I'm still wide awake.
I think I'll go for a walk to the lake before they get home. Chloe is staying with Ben and Hannah tonight, and for the first time in weeks I am completely alone. I'm going to enjoy it while I can.
And in ten minutes I'll be praying that he'll be here soon. It's beginning to be hard to live without him again.
