I got a credit app!

I got a credit app! I got a credit app! Hey, hey, hey!

Go me!! I got a customer to fill out a credit card application! Yippeeeeee!! This means I don't have to go to credit app boot-camp (i.e. donate 4 hours of a Sunday and be lambasted with pitches on how to get people to sign up). So happy!! Now I just have to repeat this every single month for as long as I work there...Oy! The motivation is not so high....so I will revel in my first and refuse to think about the next...Yay for denial!!

Mr. Dillard (the Mr. Dillard, btw) came for an "official" visit today. Everything HAD to be spic and span. It was scary crazy busy for that reason all weekend. And also because we had a "Festival of Giving" which entitled customers to an additional 25% off reduced items yesterday and because we had new markdowns today so let's just say my little feet are almost worn off from all the needless running around and leave it at that.

I live and breathe my work. I even dream about it (my subconsciousness is NOT a place you want to be from 12 to 9 a.m.). This makes me a little bit sad inside because I feel like I don't have a lot of balance yet to my life. I know that this is mostly due to the fact that I started around Christmas, which is the peak time for retail, but I really hope things settle down in January; otherwise, I will be searching for another job then if it doesn't slow down at least a LITTLE. I don't like continually running around in dress shoes. It makes me weary, in spirit and in body (i.e. I need a full-body massage. Every day. Right now would be good, in fact). ;-)

I saw the HP5 teaser trailer on-line tonight! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Love it!! So happy! The movie is bound to disappoint a little/not be quite as perfect as one would hope, but I don't really care. It's Harry Potter. I'm going to love it anyway because I am a GIGANTIC DORK!!

I joined Netflix and I love that, too!! It's so easy and it encourages my laziness, both of which I heartily approve!

Jon is coming on Wednesday, and I have the day off and I have Thursday off so I am very happy, not only to see him but also to be able to ACTUALLY spend time with him. That's the best part right there. We are celebrating Thanksgiving together at my aunt's house in Kansas City. My mom, dad and brother will be there, too, of course, along with my uncle and my cousins. This will be my first Thanksgiving away from home. I don't know if that's sad or what, but I do think it will be an interesting tradition to start.

Wednesday is my best friend's birthday (best friend in the sense that I still have the Valentine's Day card she gave me in preschool). Since I'm going to be gone, we're going to celebrate on Tuesday night. I hope that we can do something cool after work, but right now I'll settle for a nice dinner and a glass of wine. And a chance to sit down. And cute waiter (j/k, honey!).

Hmmmm...I have to go now. I have to pack my lunch and pick out what I'm going to wear tomorrow. I haven't been this focused on my appearance since I was a freshman in high school. It's pretty sad that working in retail has allowed me to come full cycle...
