An interesting article about another side of piracy...
Actually, a side that most of fandom is familiar with (and actually associates more readily with "pirated content"): the generosity of sharing, and in this case of an old widower and war veteran who almost single-handedly kept the American Troops stationed in Iraq and Afganistan supplied with fresh copies of new releases (a huge undertaking both in terms of time and money).
TPTB? kinda in a bind about persecuting him, surely fearing the huge backlash they'd face if they even tried, seem to have decided to turn a blind eye on the whole thing.
But, I'll admit, what actually made me want to post this beyond all else where the pictures of the gentleman: HE IS THE REAL-LIFE VERSION OF THE OLD DUDE FROM "UP", no seriously, even his story (finding an all-encompassing "hobby" after the death of his beloved wife and getting a bit of joie de vivre back) is in essential the same!
