"So many of the people here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them." Barbara Bush.
How can such rotten words come out of an educated, American woman? First, I would love it if everyone would stop calling the people from Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana refugees. They ARE NOT refugees. I love that Oprah said that but, not in those words. It really bugs me when I hear, “These refugees…..” UGH! The moms and dads, aunts and uncles, young ones and elderly ones are American citizens who are seeking help from other Americans like US! That is who they are truly counting on.
It was impossible for me to turn off my T.V. when such disaster was happening. Why was it when I was watching this happen LIVE, Mr. Bush wasn’t there with all of the volunteers? Why was he away giving speeches on pointless things in different states? Why wasn’t he there as a leader helping as many people as possible? If he couldn’t physically help for whatever reason why did it take him SO LONG to give a speech of reassurance of some kind? I hate to think that all of the help came so late because of the racial issues the media is bringing up but, it is impossible for me not to think of that. AGHH! I’ am just so irritated and disappointed with our government. I guess when I voted for George I didn’t think of how slow he works or how many vacation days he might take during his second term. But, he is our President so I should respect how he does the things he does and how he goes about things.
The natural disaster has already happened and now its time for people to start as fresh as possible. I guess the 2000 dollar debit cards each household is getting will be it for now. But I believe the wonderful miracles of reunion and all of the help and all of the time spent reconstructing all of the places damaged will come from Angels that God put on this earth. From wonderful people who like to give their time and anything else to help the people and, the places that are now gone. We are in a time when we should be coming together as the wonderful humans God created us to be to help others with all we have. Maybe you can devote a time for prayer for the next week strictly for all of the survivors of this disaster, to uplift them during this time and to pray for comfort and peace in their hearts, or maybe you can donate some money or, put together a package with all of the stuff you don’t need in your life anymore and give it to the local Red Cross or Salvation Army for them to send out. There is SO MUCH we the young adults are capable of doing, so PLEASE do something!
“True Christianity is more than just going to church on Sundays. It’s about showing people the genuine love and help that the Lord will and has given to us. It is also a selfless and most purest sacrificial love that we can share with people all around the world.”
Max Lucado
I love him!
