Yeah, the first thing I thought was, "this doesn't even really make a difference."

The guy was already in custody all this time, not doing any more harm (complaining up a storm for sure, but no more mindless killing or what have you) and hanging him just... felt stupid. I know a whole lotta people are probably even celebrating this event, but truly, it proves his persecutors have the same paradigm of "justice" as he did.

I know he's done a lot of unskillful things and made a lot of unskillful choices in his life, and a lotta folk think he's the devil incarnate, but seriously, does killing him really stick it to him? He claimed himself as a martyr because of the sentence, so... he obviously didn't care. So who are we trying to impress here?

Bleh.

unskillful? paradigm of justice? ?

besides, we didn't kill him, the iraqis did. i mean, sure, we probably would have, but he gassed thousands of innocent civilians. good riddance to bad rubbish, that's what I say. kill him just because I don't want my or anyone else's tax dollars feeding and sheltering him for the rest of his natural life.
