In memory of all my homies

It is Memorial Day weekend and I didn't go out of town to see the family. I figured I should just stay here and relax, get things done, etc. In spurts here and there jazzgirl03 and I have been doing spring cleaning as I am known to channel both Monica from friends and Martha Stewart. Yesterday we pulled the fridge out and cleaned behind and under it since we've lived here a year this week, and we know the previous tenants never did. That task won't have to be done again until the fall/winter and wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. Tonight we're both doing things in our bedrooms, and I've removed my colder weather bedding and put on my new bedspread which is gorgeous, but CLASHES WITH MY CURTAINS. Perhaps tomorrow, but by the very latest next weekend, I will make new curtains to match this bedding because it really bothers me. I haven't finished rearranging my furniture yet, and I may do a diagram because I just can't visualize it in different places. Since I got a raise at work almost two months ago I am getting retroactive pay and will likely invest in a steam carpet cleaner because I can't handle dirty carpet, but I also can't handle a carpet cleaner rental that might not have been cleaned properly EWWW.

I'm also cleaning out my closets because a lot of my clothes are too big and there is no point in keeping them. Tuesday before I go to work I am taking them to charity and saying bye bye to them and hello to more space. I'm not buying clothes until August or so, unless it is a fabulous deal or a required item. I've got a load of shoes to wash (yeah I wash my shoes to avoid funky stank and athlete's foot, or just dirt on them), and I think I might move one of my shoe racks to rearrange stuff. I like to change things around because I get bored but also I clean at the same time so when I move it doesn't take long and I get my security deposit back. I've lived in quite a few places and I've never not received my entire security deposit back so I'm obviously doing something right. Plus I hate clutter because if your neighbors refuse to let your rental company show your apartment they may ask to see yours and if there is stuff everywhere it is kind of dodgy (my room was pretty clean that day ha-ha, and they complimented my interior decorating skills, what what). I'm thinking of taking off my closet doors and putting up fabric instead, but I have to do some measurements firsts. The doors come out and my desk would fit perfectly near the closet if it wasn't for the damn doors.

So in essence it is summer and life is kind of boring. I go to work, the gym, maybe out for a bite or a movie. I may take a class this summer if I feel up to it. There is a box of random crap I decided to go through and found medical records from 1999 or so, and I decided to shred them. I also found pictures from when I lived in Fairbanks, and my student ID card from when I was 18. If you live around here and want to see it just ask me, I don't look different facially except the hair, and I was a bit skinnier then in the face.
