Glasses, short hair, all that stuff
A lot of friends have complained that it's been a long time since I've written a posting about my own life. The truth is that I've been busy and happy and just haven't gotten around to posting anything in a long while. I just finally uploaded some photos to flickr, and though now might be a good opportunity for a quick update on things going on in my life. Namely:
Yesterday, I completed a 2 hour oral exam in my specialty field of mathematics, combinatorics. It was intense and embarassing at points (half of the math department was there,) but I passed and now I get to do research! (hurrah!) In addition, I'm going to Costa Rica this Summer with Lu. It's a little overwhelming, but I'm excited about finally traveling and have been working on contacting people in Costa Rica who can maybe help me promote/work on my Mexican Vegan cookbook. I.e., I'm going to spend all my time sunbathing on the beach and doing math research from afar. In addition to all this, Lu and I went up to visit Kayle in Boston a couple of weeks ago, and then Kayle came down here for the cherry blossoms festival. While he was here, Lu cut his hair. She also cut mine, and I've been wearing glasses...and well, here are some pics:
