Decent Movie - Miss Potter

Jan 02, 2008 04:23

Miss Potter is a slightly whimsical, slightly romantic bio-inspired pic about Beatrix Potter the writer of Peter Rabbit and other classic children's stories. A product of trust fund parents, who socialized rather than actually having to work. Potter lived a life of great solitude, with only nannies as tutors and no formal education and a brother who was sent off to private schools. We join the story when Beatrix is 32, and in the office of her future publisher.

Renée Zellweger & Ewan McGregor are the stars. Zellweger's facial expressions at times are a bit more like a baby about to leave a deposit in a diaper than contemplation, but all the same a decent movie for a winter day. (Over a foot of snow, today!)
