The cats had to fend for themselves yet again this weekend, while R and I took off to be kids for our anniversary. We made last minute plans - actually, that's really an oxymoron in this case. We had no plans - just a last minute decision, a hasty packing job, and a lucky break or two. Less planning, more disovery.

Congrats on not clobbering anyone at the amusement park!
It struck me as kind of amusing, reading this, that your two animal interests are cats and birds. I mean, the one kind of eats the other, yes? But I guess things can turn the other way when you start talking about the larger birds of prey. ...And then I got to thinking about my love for bunnies and my polar bear obsession. heh. The bears always win that one, I'm afraid. Not too many vorpal bunnies around since the time of King Arthur.

Cats and birds. Yep. What do they have in common? nothing. I love cats because, well, they are cats. I could wax on for while about why. And birds are like a big never-ending scavenger hunt. A fun game.

I won't be able to continue tonight, but I just wanted to check
in and see how your anniversary was! Happy anniversary
by the way!
The Margay is one of our Sonoran Desert cats. I've never
seen one (or even heard of one) in the wild here in Tucson
but we have one in "Cat Canyon" at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum.
We haven't learned about them in my docent class yet but
she's always been my favorite too. SO gorgeous and such a little
thing. I'm frequently surprised how "small" these predator kitties
are actually. Except for the Mountain Lion, they're all rather
adorably little.... but ever so "strudy" and not something to mess with in real life. "They'll boit yor legs off!" "Look at the BONES man!"
hugs,
Murgatroid
