Well, I only whump the ones I love (including Lorne. He's so nice to put in peril. Dammit, I already have spin offs from this fic infecting my brain. Gah.) Just everything you said, thank you so much! I really, really love to hear what parts resonate with people, because, once again, all my fic is meta in disguise. :) And this one not only has what I think Jack and Sam would be like as a couple, but how Sam fits in with the Atlantis people, and how Jack's position as The Man really influences his ability to just be Sam's 'boyfriend' for lack of a better word (ick. I don't know why 'boyfriend' bothers me so much when referring to Jack. lol)

Anyway, thanks for reading and for giving such great feedback. :)

Gah! You are so amazing.

Jack’s money is on Teyla. Her aura of serenity doesn’t fool him for a second.

I love that line. Perfect interaction, right there.

And the rest...just guh. Love it.

Thank you! I've been meanly teasing you with those previews. ;) So, are you proud? I finally, actually committed myself to smut in a public post! zomg! :p

*flails*

You are amazing.

This really pinged me as true: She has a history of finding some things harder to admit during the daylight. Oh Sam.

I love how your Jack has had years of careful observation of Sam Carter, and how deftly he applies that knowledge.

And this made me as sad as anything: She reaches to take his hand, only to drop it back to her side after a quick glance behind her. Jack turns to see at least four heads in the control room look away at the same time.

In conclusion, this story = love. And omg, please don't kill Lorne!

I'm enjoying writing an established relationship that has its tensions and problems but still inherently works. Because I think the balance of humor and caring even with all the angst is what makes Jack and Sam work. But central to all of this is Sam and how she wants to be perceived and at the same time what she needs.

I am so glad you are enjoying this, it's been a really labor of love for me these last few months.

Thank you! So glad to hear you enjoyed it. The bad guys are not from the show, just something I made up as an excuse the whump Sam. lol. Sometimes I'm scared by how much I love to whump all these characters. :)

Just loved it. So in character. The interactions, Jack who doesn't want to complicate things but inevitably is, and Sam who isn't able to admit anything yet.
My favourite scene would be Sam and Jack in the infirmary, I really see/feel Jennifer's reaction, her behaviour towards them. And it's intimate and loving and so painful.
Yeah. Thanks!

Thank you!

I've really taken advantage of one of my main fic obsessions in this story, using a third party to observe Sam and Jack. I just love how much perception changes between different characters, and how things appear from the outside.

Glad you are enjoying it! :)
