And if, by chance, he memorized the location of Sam’s quarters in a fit of melancholy, he sure as hell isn’t going to admit it to anyone

Oh, Jack. I just love this so far and it kind of makes me want to cry. Sam's so hurt, and then Jack just wants to be there for her... when he couldn't before. And I like that you're setting it after the captivity, that Jack didn't come in and save her -- not physically. She saved herself, but she'll need help coming back all the way, and he's going to be the support for her. It's a great way to show how their relationship's grown.

And poor Lorne!!!

And I love Teyla and Ronon being all aware of what's going on (and Ronon guarding her door! how very Teal'c like. Heh. Though Teal'c would probably be in the room with her. Oh I miss Sam and her boys), while Shepherd is clueless... that totally fits.

I can't wait to see where you're going with this.

It's probably insanely indulgent to write a Sam/Jack fic set in Atlantis, but I just couldn't resist. :) I think, no matter how much it would have driven Jack crazy, he knows he can't run over to Atlantis whenever he wants, but has to trust Sam and her people to do their jobs.

I'm a little nervous about the SGA characters, because I've never written them before, but it was fun, not only to have Jack's observations of them, but their observations of Jack.

And don't worry, I'm not planning on making you guys wait long for the next parts.

I think you've written a few SGA ficlets and those turned out great... so I don't see any problems with you writing them this time around!

Even if it is indulgent, I like that you have Jack there strictly on a personal basis -- he's in civilian clothes and everything. He's not the military man rushing in to save her, but her loved one who is concerned for her. It's a nice but subtle distinction, and that's why I think it's different than the usual scenario.

And I'm excited that we won't have to wait long between parts!

So this is what you've been up to lately. Well, I heartily approve. :D

He remembers a time when he was so good at deliberately not seeing past her lies. Not anymore. YES!

And John being clueless, and Ronon and Teyla not. And sick!Lorne, yikes! What happened to them?!?!

Lovely! Looking forward to the next parts!

Yes, this is the fic I have been obsessively picking at. Of course, the muse only finally decided to cooperate when I am supposed to be writing my DV ficathon entry due on Saturday. Whoops.

You know, I am kind of surprising myself. I have never been all that interested in established relationship fics, but now that seems to be all I can write. Lol.

Very glad to hear you are enjoying it so far! More to come very soon.

It has always puzzled me when actors on various shows, when interviewed, (including Amanda Tapping) have said, in one way or another, that they are in favor of continued UST between their character and another on the show because after the UST is gone there is no tension. Uh-uh! The nature of the tension changes, and sometimes the tension is even higher because there is more at stake. And with Sam and Jack, both people who take minimalism to new heights when communicating their inner landscape, who speak better through actions, and who are both very self-effacing and not always in a good way, the possibilities for misunderstanding, tension, and resolution is amazing. But maybe my viewpoint is colored by the fact that my husband and I met at 19, became a couple at 20, married at 22, and are now turning 50, and although I've been living happily ever after for 28 years this May, most of our love story has taken place since 1980, as has most of the drama. Since I invariably enjoy what you produce, I'm looking forward to your take on ( ... )

Thanks! More to come soon, though I think I saw you say you would be away from internets for a bit. Maybe you will come home to a complete fic to read. :)
