Back from Dragon*Con and like most I had an absolute blast. But first before I go any further, I must get a small rant off my chest:
Dear rabid fan who felt the need to ask the Stargate Panel in front of 2,000 fans if Jason and Paul would please kill Sam Carter on Atlantis,
I could spend a great deal of time calling you a variety of dirty names for bringing your hate into what is supposed to be a place of squee, a place of celebration for an awesome show that has brought a lot of people together and entertained people for over a decade. But mostly, I just want to say that you are lucky I had finished drinking my water or you might have gotten pelted with a water bottle of rage and the rest of the crowd would have made me their queen. Because if you couldn't quite tell, the boos and yelling that drowned you out were 2000 people calling you an idiot. I could also go on for quite a while about the disturbing amount of misogyny you project towards a TV character and yourself when you stand up and ask asinine questions like that.
But I won't.
Instead I will let the awesomeness that is Paul McGillion speak for me: "Kill Sam Carter? Why would I want to kill her? I want to sleep with her." Yes, Paul, so do we all.
No love,
Annerb
Now, on to pics and adventures of a much more valuable kind.
Hello Stargate Fans!! 2,000 strong (and yes, I am quite towards the front and should be considering I stood in line for two and a half hours. Totally worth it.
Now, my camera mostly sucks indoors, but I got a few classic moments off the jumbo screen thingy. Michael Shanks is hotter in person. He wins at snark and facial expressions. And he and Lexa are surprisingly cute and snarky. Talk about a stupid cute OTP. She razzed him and he made disparaging remarks about her and then they held hands and sometimes called each other honey or whatnot. Awww. And I am convinced that Lexa was whispering random (probably annoying) comments to Michael as he tried to answer questions. (And yes, MegaSnake was brought up and he didn't seem to have a problem seeing that it was absolute crap ("Some things you do just for money, some things you do because you are recovering from methadone use.") As you can see, many beers were drunk and very few questions were taken serious and those were always passed onto the surprisingly loquacious and cute Alexis Cruz. I would love to hang out with that guy some day.
Breakfast of Champions.
Jason Momoa seemed a bit overwhelmed, but managed to give Chris and Paul a lot of grief. He is also very hot. And apparently likes Corona and orange juice at 10 in the morning (this was from the mostly empty Monday morning panel).
Micheal and Chris discussing why the Zat is the stupidest weapon of all time. Thanks for the demonstration (with sound effects), Chris. Keep drinking that 10am beer. Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to get a shot of Lexa informing Chris why Furries are such a freaky thing. Chris freaked out and then wanted to know how there could be something that sexually deviant that he himself hadn't done! Oh, Chris. We love you, but you must have been a total pain in the ass to work with. I bet Vanessa Angel agrees, since she told us you would show up at her door at four in the morning completely naked. (Oh, and she knows about the whole Tok'ra Spice thing and apparently finds it amusing. Lol.)
Most of my other pictures are crap but let me say a few things about the other guests:
Corin Nemec: I understand you gained 25 pounds to play Jonas so that you wouldn't be dwarfed and swallowed by the presence of Teal'c, but a little weight on your bones is not a bad thing. Yes, you looked hot and gave some really great answers, but wow were you skinny up there. So happy to see this guy included! We love Jonas! (And we promise to remember that you don't actually like bananas all that much. If only you had known what you were getting yourself in to.)
Lou Gossett Jr. : You are made of win, sir. An amazing actor and not afraid to say that you think the show is a special, special thing. (He even went so far as to say it's the most important work on television he has done since Roots. Just....wow.)
Claudia Black: You came even though you are eight months pregnant and in the middle of a house renovation from hell. You were a half hour late because you couldn't find a parking space (the mind boggles), but even thirty minutes listening to you speak was worth any amount of waiting. She was incredibly generous with the fans and just did a fantastic job.
Paul McGillion: You are my hero. No one else could have made "I'm uncomfortable again" quite as amusing. Might have something to do with the accent. And yes, I waited 40 minutes for you to come back and sign a photo, but I was waiting next to Christopher Judge and having very surreal conversations with him so it was totally worth it. Plus, you called me sweetheart when you finally got back, so I forgive you.
On another note: the Stargate Track chick brought me more fannish embarrassment that I ever thought possible. These actors really don't need to know about filking, slash and darkfic, and for god's sake, DO NOT TELL THEM THAT DRESSING UP MY LITTLE PONIES AS STARGATE CHARACTERS IS "SOMETHING YOUR FANS DO." DO NOT LUMP YOUR INSANITY ON MY FANNISHNESS. IT MAKES ME WANT TO SPORK MY OWN EYES OUT. To echo Michael Shank's response to said ponies, "You guys have way too much time on your hands."
Click here to see his exact expression. I'm right there with ya, Lexa.

Tetris boys! And if you have never read Tetris fanfic, please go to fanfiction.net right now. Your life will never be the same.
Even bounty hunters need a place to pick up chicks.
The 300 guys starved themselves for six months for this gig. Of course, I had to get the attention of the one without a perfect six pack. Sigh. Can't say they weren't enthusiastic though. Especially about pizza after all this time. Not sure they ever stopped stuffing their faces. Lol.
This is a shot of the Mariott from our spot by the bar. A really cool hotel.
But the best part of the whole thing? Meeting so many of you awesome LJ folks. It was just too wonderful for words to finally have people to unabashedly fangirl with.

stargazercmc, and geez, I must be missing someone, but sitting in a room watching SG Vids all night was possibly the highlight of the whole thing (right up there with Chris learning about Furries and Paul McGillion calling me sweetheart).
I will be back soon with some more String Theory.
