Fic Rec Post of DOOOOM
I know you are all probably busy with finishing and reading all the ficathon stuff, but I've been meaning to make this sort of a master list of fic recs (I got tired of hunting around for all my favorites). Tonight is post #1 of recs. There are SG-1 and SGA fics listed here. Some new, some old, some very familiar. Long, short and everything in between. A fair few are Sam/Jack, but that is far from what unites them. These are all fics that leave me with the most amazing sense of pathos when I am done. Every fic listed here is not only angsty, but almost breathtakingly well written. Enjoy.

Jack dealing with angst of Sam’s near death, but really…the preciousness of this fic comes from the amazing use of her theme, masterfully woven into the fic.

'Metamorphosis' fic. Gut-wrenching and beautiful.

Jack on the outside looking in. This plays with the Sam/Jack and Sam/Cameron differences. Really insightful. You’ve got to love a fic that makes you watch the show with new eyes.
After All by Little Red
They had always managed to avoid this before. Horrific circumstances finally push Jack and Sam together, can they salvage anything of themselves?

As I said when I rec’d this a while ago: “This story doesn't completely focus on Sam and Jack, but that is just another reason I love it. It's dark, angsty, apocalyptic and has some great Sam and Jack moments, but even more than that, many minor characters are brought to life in this story. Everyone is severely dented, but the core of their characters still shine through. The pace is great, the writing beautiful and the S/J not sappy or overdone. Excellent read.”

No one writes the Sam/Teal'c friendship better than Siggy. This is one of the best.

Goodness knows there aren’t enough Teal’c stories out there. This one is all about Teal’c and his relationship with Ishta and how they relate to his grown and married son. The detail and nuance are amazing. The kind of story where you feel like you get dropped right in the middle of this fully realized landscape.
You Can Buy Her Things Now But She’ll Never Be Bought by minervacat
Daniel/Vala. Great characterization on both fronts and you can see that they are both confused and Vala is not just predatory. Sweet, sad and everything in between. This is my idea of Daniel and Vala.
