Associations
Every year I take a trip with my Mom to the same place. It's become a sort of a tradition with us. A chance to hang out and enjoy a beautiful place. Whatever you choose to pack, enjoy the lack of outside distraction for a while. It's usually the chance to get away from everything else that lets the mind unwind and puzzle out those plot snags. The critical last dozen paragraphs of Follow the Star of the North fell into place and were written on my phone beside a campfire in the middle of nowhere.
