Ficamnesty: 'Mrs. Darcy'

I had totally forgotten about this little ditty until I got a bit tipsy and let holdouttrout dig through my fic folder. Lol. I wrote this little snippet for a non-fandom friend last year. We share an unhealthy obsession with Pride and Prejudice sequels (one of these days I will write my comprehensive list of the good, the bad, and the WORSE). I think I ( Read more... )

Oh, I love how Darcy has remained himself after their marriage and Elizabeth loves him the better for it. And how true about Georgiana, so meek and mild, she needs Elizabeth's common sense and backbone as an example to look up to...

Very very enjoyable and I would love to hear what you do like in sequel land. My mother gave me a horrid one for Christmas several years ago and I've never been brave enough to try again.

Thanks! I always have problems with sequels that have Darcy completely changed and all charming and practically gregarious. Or turning Lizzie all meek. I will be sure to post a list of what I've read, or attempted to read at some point. I'll have to email my friend to get a complete list. Hmmm...

Thanks! I like the idea that things don't automatically settle. They are hardly the ideal, calm match of Bingely and Jane. I have all these ideas for where this could go but I honestly find writing in this fandom intimidating as heck! :)

Hee. They would have to struggle. I like how Lizzie just isn't quite sure about this whole big house thing and French maid thing. (I wouldn't be, either.)

Darcy is perfectly inscrutable. There was a LOT of tension in that breakfast room. GAH. *g*

Well, they are the king and queen of eyesex. ;) No reason to assume that wouldn't continue into their marriage.

Hee! We found some strange, strange things that night if I recall. *digs around* It's amazing what will grow in there if you ignore it too long.

Thanks!
