NaNo and TV.

It's possible zombies just worked their way into my NaNo. I did not see that coming. Lol.

Still behind, but rapidly closing back in on the target numbers. Just got derailed by the usual combination of RL, work, and novel disorganization. A few days stepped back and writing outlines and polishing up what I already have has gotten me back in the right direction. (Now if only I could actually delete things rather than having them all strikethrough'd and shoved at the bottom of the draft. Be gone, foul text!)

Been watching some TV. You know, just a tiny wee bit. Really.

AT and her boys continue to give me the best scifi on TV. And this week more HENRY! (And I am just now noticing how cool their strange anachronistic machines are. Lovely design choice.) Magnus = awesome. Plus, you know, Paul Davis. (Evil Paul Davis.) Love the parade of syfy actors through the Sanctuary lot.

CSI (Las Vegas) is one of the few shows that the husband watches with me, so when they pulled the whole CSI Trilogy thing last week we actually watched all three CSI's. Oh boy. I can now say with some confidence that CSI Miami may be the single most terrible thing on TV right now. And yes, I am counting Trauma, god rest it's cracky soul. It's that bad. (Aiieee! Emily Proctor! Please leave now and find a better show for your awesomeness. i.e. Ainsley Hayes.)

Glee, you still win at the Teevee right now. I love that this week all of the meanest characters turned out to be the most secretly awesome. Go Puck, and go Sue. You win this week. But also Kurt and his Dad. I love that they have the most functional family relationship we've ever seen on the show.

You're just one small step behind in the squee standings, Castle. Oh yes you are.

Bones continues to be my go to fluff show of choice. I hope Brennan and Booth never get together. The UST and confusion and unbreakable affection is just so much fun as it is.

Hey, even SGU showed some promise this week. Great character moments in there even if Eli's true confessions of a traumatized fanboy did stretch a bit long here and there. The worst part is knowing there is the complete time wipe that has to be coming. So that scene with TJ having to tell Eli that Chloe is already dead....and TJ out in the hall with that other woman (ack, what's her name?), none of those scenes really ever happened. Boo. I'm a bit torn with the episode in one main way, mainly the plot. On the one hand, this was the best plot so far, the tightest and most episodic, and you know me, I love apocalypses and apparent death and temporal resets, but I still think to this day that the biggest weakness of SGA was the 'recycle a plot'-itis the show seemed to suffer from (SOLAR FLARES!). There are millions more scific tropes to mine, people! You don't have to only pull from old SG-1 eps! (Because god knows SG-1 borrowed more than their fair share of scifi recycled plots.)

Uh, I think that's probably it. NaNo has kept me from digging in on White Collar yet (or the Gilmore Girls box set still sitting unopened), but I have serious Hulu plans in place come December.

Back to NaNo now.

bones, sgu, glee, teevee, nanomg!, csi, sanctuary
