In other news: my teevee obsessions, let me show you them. I haven't been overly gleeful about TV in a long while, but this year's mid-season replacements shows have rekindled my love. I don't think I've had this many shows to be gleeful over for a damn long time.
New shows that fill me with glee:
Leverage
Castle
Lie to Me
Better Off Ted
Shows I am still watching even though I know better:
ER
Dollhouse
Guilty pleasures:
American Idol
Survivor
Old standbys:
Lost
House
Office
CSI
Bones
TV on DVD that I pretend are still on air:
Stargate SG-1
Firefly
Buffy
God, that's a lot of TV. What's your list?

And lastly, something I've sort of wanted to say for a while about Stargate:Universe. Yes, I am sure there has been much fail in the casting process as there always is in mainstream tv, and I get the leftover hurt feelings from the cancellation of Altantis, I do. And it's totally possible that this new show will be awful, that it will be Stargate meets Swans Crossing (though, honestly, it seems more like Stargate does Voyager than anything else to me, and I liked Voyager, m'kay? At least after the first two seasons, lol.) I just...I refuse to speculate and hate and angst over this show before I've even seen an episode! As far as I know, it could completely blow my mind and make me squeeful and offer a whole new bunch of quirky characters to fall madly in love with. I have no idea. I'm just going to wait and see. Speculation isn't really my thing. This is probably due to some combination of A) my abject fear of spoilers, and B) my eternal optimistism, but it is what it is. I'm also willing to give the Stargate PTB the benefit of the doubt in exchange for fifteen seasons of joy and discussion and characters I love and awesome episodes and terrible episodes too, yeah, but an entire UNIVERSE that I have been playing in for four years now with no sign of waning. I think it's a fair trade. And maybe I won't even have to eat my words this fall. Who knows?
