This week I'm in Vail, CO for a conference. My department puts me up in a gorgeous room looking out on the slopes, feeds me (when I can find vegan options, LOL), and one of my co-workers and I got to know each other because we shared a room for half of the week. The first night we talked for 7 hours. Good times were had.
I went snow-shoeing for the first time ever a couple of days ago during the mid-day break. Thinking that since I'm a Colorado native, I didn't need sunscreen was not such a good choice on my part. This was not for lack of J offering me some of hers, which I laughed off. "Me need sunscreen? Preposterous!" Oops. Half of my face, my neck all the way 'round, and the tops of my hands are lobster red. I look like a crazy raccoon! Which is kind of awesome. Except for the nickname: redneck.
Downside: I miss my dog like crazy. He's staying with my parents, so he's being spoiled rotten. Hope he doesn't forget me. I woke up a couple times last night looking for him.
