Friday Five - The Blizzard Edition

We had two snow days this week. Which would have been fine, except that this is the last week of the month and so much stuff goes on regarding grants and work that I'm flailing today. (Not flailing enough to keep from updating LJ, you'll notice.)

This also happens to be the last week before the blessed crazy that is NaNo begins. My outline's in a state of disrepair, but I expect that to be the norm. I'll take those bones and start constructing a skeleton on November 1st. I'm really excited even though this is my SIXTH year participating. Something about having a crazy deadline, mad ideas, and the power of community that gets me in the spirit every year.

Here's this week's shout-outs:

1. To blizzards in October. Everyone's predicting this will be the coldest winter on record. We're not even technically in winter and already it's proving to be true. I've got tea and hot choco on the ready!
   
2. To running inside. Thankfully my building comes equipped with a fitness room. I've been there every day this week. It's so nice to watch the snow fall and still be able to get in some running time.
   
3. Vampire Diaries two times this week! That Damon r0x0rs my s0x0rs. I think I want to marry him, or the man that plays him. Whatevs.
   
4. To my fav holiday of all time: HALLOWEEN! Going to a costume party tonight and hosting one tomorrow. Tonight I'll be a pirate!girl *arrrr, matey*, and tomorrow I'm going as a Marie Antoinette knock-off *oui oui*. (You know, if Marie wore really short skirts and fishnets.)
   
5. To having two days off this week. I watched a movie (Run Fatboy Run) and started reading a couple of books. Moar snow days, please!
