quilting day

Very quiet day today, Ada was at nursery and Nathanael was relatively easy to handle, I spent some time helping him make a scrapbook, it's spiral bound with funky foam covers and he has bible/church related funky foam stickers to decorate it with, we put his name on the front, but he's announced that he wants to give it to Cathy, or Cathy's eldest son, Tim, so we'll have to see what he thinks when he's finished it.

In the afternoon I got on with some quilting, I paper pieced several arcs, 6, I think, I now need to cut lots more fabric, I managed to cut almost all the templates whilst listening to the radio this evening.

I also needed to put the border on to my oriental quilt top, ready for class on Saturday. I had a bit of a moment where I failed to sew right side to right side for one of the strips, but it's all done and I took a picture. http://pics.livejournal.com/annekrogers/gallery/000071ww

I've come to the conclusion that I need to by a free motion/darning foot for my sewing machine, apparently there is a Janome dealer not far away, so I'm not sure whether to try and find time to go there tomorrow and get a Janome one, or whether to just get one from JoAnns during class, I'm 99% sure they will have one that fits. Hopefully this will improve my free motion quilting, so I can use it on the oriental quilt, but if not, I may well be stuck with quilting in the ditch.

When Ada got back from nursery (Andrew picked her up on the bike), she gave me the biggest smile through the door and a gorgeous hug and kiss. She then proceeded attempt to eat all the dinner before I cooked it, but at least she ate well once I cooked it (as did Nathanael, I'd done a pound of pasta and it all got eaten).
