Alright, alright, time to start making real entries again. I haven't really felt like journal writing for a long while, and kind of a lot has happened in the interim. I don't think I'll catch up on all of it, but for record's sake and your convenience, here is a little bulleted list of the highlights.
- Spent a week at my sister's apartment, which was of course really fun
- After that, spent a weekend at my grandparents' for grandpa's 80th birthday
- Bought an electronic keyboard, and I love it
- Dropped a blueberry iMac on my toe and was gimpy for a week and a half
- New Roommate Kenny moved in
- Watched Initial D and Cowboy Bebop with New Roommate Kenny
- Worked (insert three entries complaining about work here)
- Procrastinated finishing Dragon Cross by working on a translation of Tsumi
- Went to Sue's wedding, which was both tiring and awesome
- Saw many random IMSA people
- Started to play Chrono Cross with Dan - it's a bonding experience!
Alright, I suppose that's all of it... certainly it's all I can think of right now. As for what's going on with me currently, I suppose it's more of the same. I managed to contract that worm virus thingie on my work computer, which has killed its functionality completely. It's both annoying and awesome - annoying because I can't work until it gets fixed, and awesome because I can't work until it gets fixed. I have had to go in anyway, though, because of various meetings with Cute Coworker Joe, who is leaving soon for grad school and preparing to pass his legacy on to me. And by 'legacy' I mean 'projects that would be simple if not for the meddling of many dull-witted secretaries and other luddites'.
I've been playing the piano a lot, which is *awesome*. Maybe I can use that Audblog thing to post a song for y'all. I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to play regularly again - I was always just too lazy to go to the public pianos at IMSA/UIUC. It's nice that I made enough money this summer to be able to buy a keyboard with my spare cash. It was definitely worth it.
So school starts in exactly a week... I'm not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, I am looking forward to it, because I think I'm going to like some of my classes, but on the other hand, I am really dreading starting up that whole dance again. I feel like I've been hyper-productive this summer, and I am going to miss that a lot when school starts and I will be too tired/too busy doing my nightly two hours of Japanese homework. *sigh* At least it's a labor of love.
At any rate, I think it's time for me to wander off like the fogbeast I am... and by fogbeast I mean coffee monster. Rawr.
