Where is it now, the glory and the dream? (Wordsworth, Ode: Intimations of Immortality)
So I'm studying for English. I've been reading over all the material from the semester, so you'll probably see random quotes popping up here (annoying I know, but I really do love them). My logic final yesterday went really well (thanks to Steve helping quiz me) so I think I'll be getting a B in that class (maybe an A if the curve is low), and all I have left is English. Hooray! Needless to say, I'm excited about the year being over. I'm halfway there!
This summer I'll be working a lot (save save save) and hopefully I'll get to visit family. I'm starting out by spending a week at home, and then probably another week in July. Because I can work as many hours as I want, I probably won't go home too much... I like money. I hear it's useful. Right now, the plan is to go home for Memorial Day weekend and then stay a week and come home on Sunday or Monday sometime. While I'm home, I want to clean out my room as best I can and get it straightened out. Mom will love me for it... then she can start using it as a guest room.
I finished Persona 2 after my final yesterday. Since I have mad studying to do for the English exam, I wanted to get it over with so it wouldn't be distracting me. Of course, since I finished it I've decided I'm in love with it... so I've been looking for fanfiction and pictures and stuff. I've found hardly anything, though.... it's just not as popular as the P2:1 (which is odd because there's no English release of it - I think). I made
this wallpaper out of some images I found, though. I think it looks pretty slick (and the quote is from the end of the game). The guy on the bottom is Tatsuya, the main character of P2:1, and above him is Maya, the main character of P2:2 (they have a thing, or something... I don't really understand it, because I didn't play the first one). The guy on the left is Katsuya, Tatsuya's yummy older brother (he's a detective!), and the thing on the right is Tatsuya's persona, Apollo (Tat is holding Apollo's helmet on his chest).
As for the ending... well, it was pretty sad. Pretty sadistically sad (like FFX). Spoilers ahead, if you care....
Basically, at the end of P2:1, Maya is killed by the Spear of Longinus (the one that pierced the side of Jesus - there's something about that kind of wound never healing) and everything on the surface of the Earth is destroyed. The party of that game agrees to forget all of their memories of what happened in order to 'reset' history and create a new world in which the disaster never happened. P2:2 takes place in that world. So, anyway, Tatsuya somehow refused to forget his memories, which causes a paradox that would doom the new world to the fate of the old one... so at the end of P2:2, Tatsuya (predictably) has to leave to go back to his own world. This leaves a Tatusya in the new world, but this one doesn't remember anything at all. It's very sad, of course... in the last FMV, we see Maya come out of her office building, and as she is waiting to cross the street she sees Tatsuya stopped at the light on his motorcycle. She recognizes him, but knows he doesn't remember her at all... it's a heartwrenching moment. Then she smiles and crosses the street in front of him, and it's game over. *sniff* So sad!
I like epic tragedies :) Fushigi Yuugi, Romeo and Juliet, FFX... I'm a sucker for punishment.
Anyway... I guess I should get back to studying. Enough swooning about Persona 2... for now. :)
