This is the second Christmas decorations post. :D This one is mostly the nativity (including a giant hamster and Darth Vader), but also a couple wreaths and stockings and the like.
Not many people know that the Three Wise Men were followed by the One Giant Hamster.
Here's Mary, Joseph, and the donkey, headed for the stable...
This being the stable.
This would be the giant glass venus flytrap that was next to the stable. They sometimes cut that out of the story, depending on the translation, but it was there.
Darth Vader and some giant birds were also there, hanging out with the shepherds. Well. The shepherd. Our nativity set's a bit limited.
There was also a giant beanbag lizard over the stable, kind of like a colorful quadrapedal Godzilla. You didn't know about that? Man, you use an abridged version!
And here's the whole nativity, with the sections labeled.
Mary and Joseph will move a bit down the shelf until they reach the stable on Christmas Eve. Then Jesus comes out of the Jesus Box, and the Wise Men start moving from the east towards the stable, which they reach on Epiphany. The Jesus Box, you ask? This is the Jesus Box!
It's a box that I keep Jesus in. This tin is exactly what it says on the... well. Yeah. Anyways, here's Jesus...
And here's the gold (shiny gold threads), frankincense (shiny green and purple threads), and myrrh (a clove) that come out on Epiphany.
Anyways, moving on from the nativity, here's John's stocking...
...and here's mine.
Our mom made them a long time ago. I think she made each of ours when we were just babies, but I'm not sure. I wasn't very good at paying attention then. Especially not when I was five years away from being born and John was born. Anyways, here's one of our inside wreaths, with metal holly and a metal bow that I just love.
And here's the cardinal wreath, with fake cardinals on it, see? :D Fun fact: cardinals are our state bird!
And, finally, at a certain point, you just wanna put some bows on things.
Well, that's it for this post! I'll post those photos of our outside decorations tomorrow, and I promise there'll be at least one photo of me in that post-- maybe wearing my fedora! >D
