Homeschooling thoughts

So, I'm currently looking at Bob Jones curriculum for K4, for Korban. It's about 1.5hrs of video each school day, with a bit of homework on the side afterwards. My sister used it for her daughter, and now she's on to K5, and planning on continuing.

I had been thinking of sending Korban to the French kindergarden in town next year, but I'm second-guessing that decision for a few things:
1. Halloween takes up a whole month of school. Stories and play times about witches, skeletons, etc? No thanks. Especially because Korban has a wild imagination, picks up on things really quickly, and gets night terrors. I don't want to add to that. So I'd basically need to take him out of school for a whole month.
2. We may be on the road frequently with deputation, and we hope to move to Africa during the school year. That may or may not happen, but it's a strong possibility. Is it wise to put him in the public school when he won't be there consistently? I don't know.

But the BJU, he can do his school wherever we are. I have a few questions though, and wondered what you guys think:
1. Korban loves watching stuff. Because of how much he does pick up, I want to guide what he watches more, so it's more educational. I think those DVDs would be great for him, he would really learn and satisfy his desire to watch things.
2. I'm tempted to start NOW, even though it's March, which isn't the start of a school year, or even the start of a semester. Seems odd to start now, but should that keep me from it? Just because it's "not how it's done"?
3. With the thought of starting soon, am I pushing him too much? I sometimes hear about kids being pushed into learning too early and affecting them negatively towards school. I don't want to do that. He's going to be 4 on April 23rd. He's not as advanced as some his age, yet he picks up a surprisingly big amount of things, I think. Do you think it's too early and I should just occupy him otherwise?

Looking for your feedback.... :)
