We got back from our trip yesterday. It was a busy, busy time. Feels like we didn't really get a chance to visit with anyone, but that was the nature of the trip, I suppose. 2 days driving there, 3 days preparing for the funeral, then Sunday was church in the morning (Josiah preached, and him and I did a special song and the worship), followed by the viewing from 2-4pm, the funeral at 4pm (I did the welcoming words, shared a eulogy, and Josiah and I did music, and Josiah/Mom/and I did a special song), immediately followed with a supper. After talking for a while and needed some space, I went back to my parents' (right next door) and quickly packed up all our stuff. At 8pm, we did a birthday cake for my youngest brother as he really wanted everyone to be there. Then we left at 6am the next morning. 2 days on the road back. Just a bit busy!!!!
The funeral was nice. Emotional, of course. I didn't think I would cry, but how can one share memories of a grandpa without crying? I did the welcoming words and chocked up, and chocked up more while doing an eulogy, and while doing our special song (For Those Tears I Died).
I'm so glad we were able to be there, it was definitely a blessing to be there, and we were for sure meant to be there. I think I'll crash tomorrow though. I tend to feel the tiredness from a trip on the 2nd day back, and I'm already feeling myself crashing. Here's hoping Jedidiah gives me a good night sleep tonight!!! :)
All of us together, minus my one sister (Emmanuelle, 25). Left to right: Sarah (2), Milca (older sis), Jason (Milca's husband), Emilie (in Jason's arms, 3.5), Rachel (in front, almost 6), Ruth (sis, 16), Dad, Pierre Paul (bro, 22), Mom, Brian (bro, almost 11), Charles Etienne (bro, 19), Korban (3.5), Josiah, Jedidiah (1), and I. My sister is having a 4th in August. :) :)

I had to share something funny Korban said. I said I needed to do my exercise today, and asked if he would do it with me. Here is the conversation that followed:
K: No, I don't like exercise.
Me: Why not?
K: I don't want my bum to change
Me: Why do you say that?!
K: The lady in the video says exercise changes our bum and our body. I don't want my bum and my body to change!
Me: {LOL!} Ooooh, but it won't change if you exercise with me.
K: No, I don't want my bum and body to change!
Me: It's just bigger people who want to be smaller that will change.
K: Oh ok. So, when I'm a Daddy, then I'll exercise so I can be little again!
Oh, kids. They're so fun. :)
While I was cooking supper, Korban said "Mmmm! It smells good! What's for supper, Mom?"
I thought that was cute as it's so little boy-like, not something that comes from a toddler. :)
One more thing: Jedidiah learned to go down steps now! He also had his first immunization today and didn't even cry! Wow, that was nice. Korban screeeeeeeams so hard when he needs to get one. Hopefully Jedidiah continues on this trend! :)
