And I'm slightly confused by your editor's remarks that The Gifting is 'not commercial enough' and 'too romantic'. Surely that's a contradiction in terms, since Romance=Commercial/Mainstream, these days?

Tee hee - Poke! If only I could do it in real virtuality - if you see what I mean.

And I think he meant there was too much romance for a fantasy novel. But actually it's very much off-genre anyway - as is the rest of my stuff - so I'm not paying it too much attention!
