1. Had an involuntary 3-day weekend. Usual Saturday and Sunday off, but was furloughed today (along with several/many thousands of state employees here); not allowed to read work email remotely OR check voice mail. "NO WORK, PERIOD." Fine by me. If they're not going to pay me, I'm not going to work. It didn't feel like a holiday, just... a day I didn't go to work. Weird. Saturday night Mr. Annearchy and I went to see UP IN THE AIR. Well done, Jason Reitman, George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick and everyone else.
2. Watching Olympics sporadically since Friday night. Have seen bits and pieces of pairs figure skating (watching finals now), luge, men's and women's moguls, snowboard cross, and men's speed skating. Like Dick Button, I am finding myself displeased by all the skaters who insist on pulling on their skates; it got tiresome after about the third time I saw it. Also noticing that the women in the pairs are astonishingly tiny and the guys are very strong. Not sure about the folks who won the gold; it was a nice program with a couple of bobbles, but according to the announcer, the short program was the clincher for them (meaning they would have not got the gold only if they'd really tanked).
3. Is anyone else watching MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE? I really like that show. I don't know who got the idea to cast Ray Romano, Scott Bakula and (OMFG) Andre Braugher as long-time friends in their late 40s, but it's working really well so far, IMO.
4. Weather is seasonably cold here and we got a tad of snow today. I'm thanking my lucky stars I'm not in Ohio or the east coast today.
Well, that's all for now. Must go move a ton of clothes off our bed and into the closet. Back to work tomorrow a.m.
