1. It was Farmer's Market Day in downtown State Capitalville. I got a lovely large bag of lettuce, 2 vine-ripened tomatoes (no pesticides), a ginormous chocolate chip cookie for DD, and a triple-chocolate brownie and a bag of freshly-popped popcorn for myself. Go to movie, go out for dessert and coffee after
Rent movies,
Paint T-shirts or tote bags or make wall hangings with bands, quotes, other images. (maybe make some stencils in advance or use freezer paper. cut design out with exacto knife, iron freezer paper onto shirt. it will stay long enough to paint over, then after drying, peel freezer paper off, leaves no residue)
If the other parents and you don't mind do henna tattoos (kit available at craft stores)
There's a kit also that you can use to make button pins.
I mentioned shrinky dinks before, with sharpie markers.
As for shingles, I think I blocked out the memory of the pain after I had a large prescription of Darvocet and also wondered if it would ever stop. ever bad thing I've ever done came back to me then. a weird thig was that I'd taken that Sept-May disciple class right before that,and kept thinking of Biblical stuff. And I've never been really a formal religion person, sometimes bordering on paganism, depending on your definition of paganism.

Thanks for the sympathy. The summerof 2006 was not one I will ever remember fondly, for the shingles thing and other, even worse reasons. The others were matters of the heart though.
