1. It was a very busy weekend. Friday afternoon I retrieved Darling Daughter, who returned from Girl Scout Camp. The camp theme ("camp scene investigation") turned out to be lame, but she loves GSC and wants to go every year until she's old enough to be a counselor. So that's good.
2. Saturday was my mumbledy-mumbledyeth birthday, and thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday. I had a good day overall. Mr Annearchy gave me a silver iPod Nano and some cute little bubble-shaped speakers; I guess he got a deal on them at Circuit City. I already had iTunes on my computer and the damn iTunes store would NOT allow me to log into that under my existing Apple ID (which it said did not exist!) So, due to advice from co-workers I finally decided to get a new Apple ID. Finally got my iPod registered and loaded with songs this morning. I have a paltry song collection compared to most people (ITO number of songs; I love the songs I have). I must remedy that. We celebrated Saturday night by going to dinner at an Indian restaurant, where I had lamb mango curry (yum) and then because I mentioned it was my birthday the waiters showed up later with a big goblet of mango ice cream with a lit candle in it, and they sang Happy Birthday to me. Oy. The ice cream was very yummy for not being chocolate. No movie etc. this week - we'll finish the party by seeing THE DARK KNIGHT next week. Darling Daughter also got a faux-pod in the mail Saturday from a friend who sent it as a very early birthday gift. Hers even has an FM tuner, so she was listening to classical music (!!) last night to relax at bedtime. (Well, active rock is NOT going to relax anyone.)
3. Yesterday I took DD to church with me, then afterward I passed her off to our friend Doleta, who took DD with her to a dog park. So DD was in heaven, hanging out with Doleta, her husband and their Corgis all afternoon. My dad called when I got home, and after that Mr. Annearchy and I went to a barbecue at my co-worker Grant's house, in honor of our co-worker Orlando, who has been working in Montreal the past year on a special job. It was a lovely day, bright and sunny though a bit windy, and the food and company were excellent.
4. Fangirly moments of the day: From the
ridiculous to the
sublime. When he's not being a goober, boyfriend's a rockstah.
