1. Hurray for having a long weekend (U.S. residents only, void elsewhere). I can sure stand having an extra day off, and I will think of our brave armed forces who have died over the past 232 years. Anyway today I used the gift certificate Mr. Annearchy gave me for Mother's Day and had a 45-minute hot stone massage. It was fabulous. The hot stones and the massaging really loosened my upper back muscles, which is where I usually carry a lot of tension. Basically she massaged all the back of my body from my head down to my feet, as well as all of my arms. Then I flipped over and she worked on my face, neck and upper chest. It was wonderful and I left feeling nicely relaxed.
2. After my massage I went to McDonald's and had a yummy Southwest Salad and then went to the supermarket. I got home in time to take Darling Daughter to the 13th birthday party of CH, who is her BFF. CH's grandma brought DD home a little after 4:00. DD complained that a girl named A ruined the party; she showed up an hour late, then some other, "popular" girls showed up and A went off with them. Teenage girls can be so cruel to each other :(
3. We went out to dinner at Wendy's. Mr. A had planned to make beef stir-fry and rice for dinner; however, he started the rice without knowing where the top was for the saucepan. We couldn't find it so he (angrily) gave up and we went out to eat. *sigh* My house is getting a bit deep again; it's time to do the FlyLady stuff more seriously.
4. One thing we really need to do this weekend is buy a new kitchen faucet. The current one is at least 20 year old and is leaking badly and we decided it would cost less to buy a new one because this one is sort of old and corroded. Anyway we haven't even managed to pick one out yet; we went to Home Depot and Menard's a few weeks ago, but we didn't like the selection in our price range. Bah. I hate this aspect of home ownership. Actually the minute DD goes off to college I think we'll sell this house and buy a condo; no more yard work or snow shoveling would be a good idea too.
5. iTunes was very weird for me the past day or two. I was trying to download David Cook's single, Time of My Life (a concoction of treacly lyrics featuring the phrase 'magic rainbow', that is made bearable only by Cookie's voice and a sort of lilting waltz-time melody) and iTunes was trying to tell me my password was wrong. But today I tried the same password and ta da, it was accepted. WTF. Oh well. At least I got the song, plus videos of the 3 songs he did on the Idol finals Tuesday night. Mine, Cookie, mine, mine, mine. Also, I must have video of that Guitar Hero commercial, just because:)
