1. You know you spend too much time in your role-playing game when you go to your LJ subject line and start typing "RP: (topic)" *irons hands* *looks shifty*
2. Still need to find time, somewhere, to sit down and read
madlori's conclusion to Hero With a Thousand Faces. *sigh* I should probably go back and re-read chapter 12, if I could remember where to find it (Fiction Alley?). My problem with long fan fics is that I have no attention span for them any more. In fact, if I think something's going to be more than 5,000 to 7,000 words at a pop, I probably won't take the time to stop. I do a lot of skimming lately, especially on people's LJ, but I don't like skimming fics.
3. Darling Daughter was home, sick, again yesterday. I don't know if she had a fever, but she had terrible stomach cramps and ended up sleeping until 2:45 p.m. o_O Hoping to drag her out of bed in 2 minutes for school today. Her Cereal Box book report is due! ETA: Still sick *sigh*
4. JC Penney had an "extra 15% off with this coupon" sale yesterday. I went to Penneys after dinner and was disappointed. I was hoping to find a dress to wear to my sister's wedding (which is OMG only 10 days from now) because I didn't like the 2 or 3 dresses I have in my closet. Literally, that's all I have these days. So I went to Penneys and tried on 3 dresses and...total meh. One 2-piece thing that looked very pretty and water colory blue and green made me look like a potato sack. The others I tried on were pullover dresses with an empire waist (not so bad) and plunging necklines (definitely not good). I do not do cleavage. For one thing I don't really have any cleavage, and I've never been comfortable showing off what little I have. And women my age usually don't walk around with so much of their boobs showing. Then I looked for shoes and couldn't find anything suitable that would allow me to pull out the insoles and insert my custom orthotics. So unless I can find something at Rogan's this weekend, I'll be stuck wearing my black comfort flats. Anyway I went across the street to Burlington Coat Factory and after a bit of looking I found a pretty 2-piece outfit, pale blue rayon with 3/4 sleeves and handkerchief bottoms/hems on both the top and flowy skirt, and rectangular beading. For $20. Yes, it was probably made by 8-year-old girls with tiny fingers *sigh* I didn't like much of the clothes at BCF but I did like this, and it was comfortable and pretty. I still look like a potato sack, but at least it's a pale monotone, handkerchief hemmed, beaded potato sack.
5. AI: Kristy Lee, begone!! Please.
