Happy Thursday
1. So I'm in a pretty good mood today. The two fics I wrote recently are done, beta-read, and I sent the second one off to the ficfest last night. So I'm ahead of deadlines on both of them, which is a new thing for me. *pats self on back* Thanks to the folks who beta'd for me - I really appreciate your help and suggestions. Now that I've actually done these, I hope to be able to get back to a couple of stories I've been working on very sporadically for a looooong time, in addition to continuing in my two RPGs.
2. This morning Mr Annearchy, Darling Daughter and I went to her school at 8:00 a.m. for our first parent/teacher/child conference of 6th grade. Her teachers, Mr. A and Ms. O, told us that her grades would have been good enough for Honor Roll, except that she didn't hand in a couple of assignments because she misplaced the work *headdesk* So instead of getting a B and an A in 2 of her classes, she got a C and a B, which meant she didn't have enough A's for honor roll. They think she's quite intelligent enough to earn Honor Roll as long as she does the work and hands it in. So she needs to improve her organizational skills, and to that end I'll buy her a Trapper Keeper this weekend so she can keep everything together. This is one of those Big Differences between elementary school and middle school; her grades will really suffer if she can't get herself organized, and she knows it.
