1. abigail89, I got the book thong you sent! It's wonderful - such lovely colors. Thank you, darling. And avidbeader, I got the pumpkiny stuff. Too cute!! Thank you so much. I can't wait to see both of you in ONLY 2 WEEKS!!!11! (assuming Northwest Airlines doesn't cancel our flights...cross your fingers etc.)
2. The poor Burgundy Jedi's (DD's rec soccer team) lost again, but this time by only 5-0. DD played goalie, defense and offense. The ref was more than a little weird; apparently he didn't know before the game that this league plays four 12.5-minute quarters. The first quarter had gone on about 16 minutes before it got stopped and he said, "Oh, my games are two halves." Oookay. No, sorry, our league (AYSO) plays quarters. And he was calling all sorts of stuff like hand balls, which no ref had called before on this U10 team. Well, the refs are all volunteers, as are the coaches and everyone else, including the people who put down the stripes on the grass - which have mostly faded since the season began a month ago so that the players can barely tell what's inbounds and what's out of bounds. Gah. Our girls aren't too horrible on defense, they just can't score :(
3. HP Fans - presumably you know that Daniel Radcliffe will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight? Like, in a little while here. Probably within 20 minutes. W00T :D
