Tired but reasonably happy

I've been really busy (so it seemed to me) the past few days, which is why I'm just updating now at midnight (but I get to watch Without A Trace while I update, so that's cool).

Thursday a.m. I went to see the Ed Schultz radio show live, in person. The show was from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., but I went really early (like 8:45, after I dropped darling daughter at school) and found a good parking place not far from the theater, and managed to get a seat in the front row of the regular seats, right behind the seats reserved for radio station VIPs and advertisers. I had a meeting at work at 2:30 or I would've just spent the whole day there (yeah I took 5 1/2 hours of vacation for this). It was quite an experience; Ed's a leftish populist who's incredibly down-to-earth, and he had some great guests including John Nichols, who writes for The Nation. I had a great time and I'm glad I went.

Friday was pretty normal workwise, though I had a nice little break at lunch time. I walked a couple blocks and met my buddy Steve, who lived around here and is in my music fandom. He gave me two fairly recent Monte Montgomery live shows on CD, both recorded at the Granada Theater in Fort Worth, Texas in the past 4 months. I listened to the more recent one that afternoon while I worked, which made me happy. The next best thing to Monte in person, IMO, is a good recording of a concert.

Thursday night, Friday and this morning I did a lot of RPing. It's like crack, I tell you :D

Saturday was insanely busy. Got up at 7:30. Left the house at 9:20 and had my hair cut. Worked out at Curves. Came home at 11:30. Darling daughter bugged me to go to the mall so we could wait for dreamcoat_mom. We wandered around the mall for awhile and finally connected with dreamcoat_mom a little after 1:00 p.m. It was great seeing her; I wish I could spend more than an hour with her once a year, we have such fun chatting *hugs* Okay, left mall around 2:30. Drove to a gift shop and bought a Webkinz stuffed toy for DD's collection. Dropped DD off at home. Went to supermarket. Checked out at 4:30. Got home about 4:40. Put groceries away. Left at 5:05 to pick up DD's friend GP. Drove girls to church for spring sleepover. Stayed there until 9:15. Got home a little after 9:30. Caught up with flist. Now must try to catch up on email.

The title of my entry comes from the fact that I'm feeling better now, emotionally, than I have since I got back from Florida in early January. It's spring (really! Wednesday's 6 inches of snow was gone in less than 2 days), the weather is nice, my dad is doing a lot better, I'm not worried about my cat anymore (as he's now been dead a whole month) and some other worries seem to be less worrisome. Hope y'all are well.
