still alive in case you were wondering
Well, I am back from the camping trip and I am still alive. It definately was an adventure. It was me, Marci, and Caroline. We got going rather late. Marci picked me up sometime after 6pm and we didnt get to Carmens house to get the tent until like 7pm.The three of us got got into one of our long chats and we ended up gabbing unitl 10:30pm! We had not even been to the tent site or ate yet! Marci hadnt even packed yet! So Caroline and I drove to the campsite while Marci packed a bag. When Caroline and I got to our tent site in the middle of nowhere, it was pitch dark. I said, "Caroline, how in the world are we going to pitch this tent in the dark?!" We sat in the car a while but then noticed that this group of college guys that were camping across the way were snickering and staring, I of course wanted it to look like we knew what we were doing so, I got the idea of turning the car around and shining our headlights on where we would set up the tent. It worked. However when we started setting up the tent with just two flashlights, the college boys sent over an ambassador to inquire as to what we were doing. So the guy comes over and goes, "Um, I was wondering, are you guys really setting up that tent in the dark at 10:30pm?" I answered, "yes." Then he said, "hmm...wow...i thought so...do you need any help?" Caroline quicky replied, "no." ;) Girl power. When Marci arrived we got the tent up pretty quickly. Once that task was completed we realized that we needed firewood to make smores and also we needed FOOD! It was 11:30pm and the store closed at midnight so we jumped in the car and ran to the store. We ended up missing McDonalds that night so we ended up at Marci's apartment making stromboli!!! We joked the whole time about how we were really ruffing it. We didnt even get to the camp site until like 1:00am! By then it was raining so we ended up staying up talking about well ...girls stuff :) The next morning we got up and made eggs over an open fire and ate smores. Then we explored the campground and had a nice relaxing day. It really didnt rain that much. It rained during the night and briefly the next day. I loved hearing the rain fall on top of the tent that night, it was awesome. Anyways, it was an adventurous weekend. I wish I had time to go camping some more before I left.
