what seafood fest?

Spent part of the day yesterday at Narragansett Beach. Love it there - my second favorite beach in Rhode Island although I feel as though I'm missing most of them because I don't explore enough. I would rather go for the sure thing rather than find a beach online and then go there only to find it rocky or small or too hard to find parking.

Water was actually warm. Well, maybe not warm but definitely refreshing.

Big waves at one end. Buff women everywhere, like there was a bodybuilding competition in town.

Seafood Festival, they said! Come eat seafood! So, we go, me and my friend from New York City. What do you picture when you think of a Seafood Festival? I imagined balloons and pretty signs and chefs serving me food and wine. I envisioned booths and booths with different culinary seafood dishes from all over Rhode Island.

What the reality was is about 6 dark brown card tables together, serving the following: chowder, lobster rolls in hot dog rolls, lobster and corn, clamcakes, and calamari. I'm not even kidding.

Insert this into the middle of a traveling carnival and you can pretty much imagine my supper last night.
