Sa aking paglantaw
Ako ay may nabatid..
Tunay ngang napakaganda
Ng ating daigdig..

Lantaw is a Hiligaynon word that means "to view from afar". It is also the name of our friend's website which aims to promote the beautiful places in the Philippines.

Together with other volunteers of the Black Pencil Project, we visited Lake Sebu, organized by Mr. Lantaw himself, Allan Barredo, and distributed school supplies, books, and a carabao to Baranggay T'kunel, one of BPP's local beneficiaries.

And because the volunteers were mostly photography enthusiasts, most of our side trips are photo opportunities. We visited a lot of lakes, saw a lot of rainbows, and gazed at a lot of sunsets.

We were able to immerse a bit in the local culture by eating the local dishes and and observe their daily routine. The staple food in the community was tilapia and we were able to eat tilapia in every way you can imagine! :) We were also lucky to see the amazing performance of local musician, Ma Fil and his sister.

It's really nice to travel and learn more about our world each day, at the same being able to do good deeds for our less fortunate fellowmen and in the process, meet a lot of interesting new people and touch a lot of lives along the way.

And I won't have my life any other way.
