Switzerland Day 3

Day 3 of Switzerland. Montreux. A beautiful valley, surrounded by snowy mountains, a fresh dusting of snow up high in the mountains.  The sun shinng down in the valley on the leaves of the palm trees. Such beauty this country. The history and calmness of the land, people and nature.

Stef and I took photos of us with the palms on the terrace and the snowy mountains in the background. After breakfast, but before our excusion to Chillon, Stef and I walked around the grounds  a bit and discovered the were setting up the christmas sheds for next week's Christmas market. It is all along the water front and we are sad that we would be missing it.

After our walk, and it was quite chrisp, the tour traveled a short distance to Chillon Castle. The Caste is on the banks of Lake Geneva, and was used as a residence and toll station by the Counts of Savoy from the 12th to the 16th century.  Facts about the castle can be found here at their website: Chillon Castle

After this tour to the Castle we had the rest of the day to ourselves. We changed, and freshend up and then we walked all around the area. We had a nice time walking around and seeing the town. There are lots of Queen and Freddy around the town.

After dinner, we went to the Queen Experience in downtown Montreux. They have nightlife, casinos, resturants and shops. It was a very pleasant evening and well spent.
