The only person who knows whether they lied or not is the person themselves. They are the ones who have to live with that lie. The REAL person who started it all, Jose Canseco, where is he in all this now? Will or is he being punished? He wasn't a model citizen to start with, but as usual decent althetes, who may or may not have made a mistake in their earlier years will now pay big time because Jose needed to come out and start a witch hunt. Jealousy I guess? And the REAL point is that "drug" WASN'T illegal at the time. Sure, we know it now. But seriously, how can any player be punished by MLB for taking a substance that WAS NOT ILLEGAL? Are sports facilities going to punish and strip non major league athletes who took supplements that we know were bad for them and caused unnatural muscle? Does the US not have forgiveness and understanding? Whatever substance it was and whatever it's "benefit" I couldn't have been so terrific to have make the player exceed un-realistic results. Why doesn't MLB crack down and ban chewless tobacco from MLB players? It's much more harmful than whatever this supposed substance was/is, yet every day our favorite players pile their mouths full of chew.
They didn't show extra ordinary un human like talents. I watched these players growing up. They had their bad days at the plate or mound and were by no means perfect on every outing. Just because a person is indicted for anything, doesn't mean they lied or was even guilty. It means someone else believes they are or did lie.
