I had a vacation day today. I slept in until about 9 and then mom and I got around and paid the bills I needed to before leaving town. We stopped to get gas at Speedway (41 freakin' dollars to fill up!) we grabbed some pumpkin cofee's and headed for State Rt. 95 towards Mt. Gilead to pick up 71 North for Cleveland.
We made it up there about 2. So, it takes about 2 hrs from home. Cleveland is weird. I'm used to the body of water being south of me and a different layout. The streets are caddy cornered. But we found it easy enough and a place to park on Ontario st, about 2 blocks I think, from the Q, as it's called. It's where the Cavs play. So, we parked and headed to find Tower City and the Hard Rock. We found that, I had been there once before with Stef and
coreyann if I'm not mistaken. I think she was there.. yes, she was. Duh. 'Nsync Concert! I think that was 1999?
Anyhoo. I texted corey and told her I made it. lol. Mom and I walked around, hit Claires, a dollar store and a few other places in the mall, before going downstairs to the lower level. Corey called me and said Joe was down at the Q signing autographs. She was still 30 mins out of town. We debated on whether to go or go ahead and goto the Hard Rock Cafe. We decieded to goto the HRC. We didn't know which entrance or anything and figured by the time we figured it out and found out, he'd be gone. So, we headed back upstairs to the Cafe. It was only a 15 minute wait. I got
joejonasrox a HRC pick necklace. The food was excellent!! There were other groups of NKOTB fans there too. By the time we were done eating, took pics, talked to some fellow fans, it was after 4:30pm. So, we decided to just walk down to the Q. We had nothing else to see or do. We sat on the corner of Ontario and 9th st, I think it was. I took pics, texted some of my peeps and then we finally walked up closer to the entrance. We talked to some fellow fans and then a guy came out and said we could go in and buy merchandise. We had to come back out of course. During this time I was texting with Corey too. She was in the meet and greet.
The doors opened at 630-ish! We went through the metal detectors and had our purses/bags searched. We found our seats well enough. I'll skip all the comings and goings cause its boring. First, Cody O'donnell (I think that's how you spell it) performed. He was good. Never heard of him, but he did well. Next, was Natasha Bettingfield. She was good as well. Love her songs.
Finally about 9 pm it started. It starts on the plasma screen talking about the history and all that, and their logo started to appear on it. The crowd was going wild. Including myself. :)I think they sang The Right Stuff first. It was so loud, I could be wrong or just not remember totally. But, I'm pretty sure it was that, and then Single. Donnie came out about at the 3rd or 4th song and was gonna ask if we were ready to party, but the crowd was so loud, he said he didn't need to. It was DEAFINING!!!!! The show was awesome. They looked great, thanked us for not forgetting them after all these years and talked to us, told us about things and events in their familes. They remembered those we had lost recently and not so recently. They even showed Heath Ledger and the crowd went wild.
I thought it was really awesome that they had Jordan and Joe sing their hit singles too. The dancers were awesome and also the treat of them coming out in the back of the crowd onto a platform to talk and sing 2 am in the morning and a couple other songs. Joe talks and then they walk back through the crowd.
My ears were ringing and my voice was getting really horse! They sang I'll be loving you, and then Step by Step, the last hooray is of course Hangin' Tough and let me tell you it brought the freakin' house down!!! I've never screamed that loud or that much in a long time!
I didn't want it to end! But, it did.
We exited and made it back to the car, and waited a bit to leave. I looked at the GPS on my phone or at least tried. I had to update it and finally got in but then gave up. I got directions from the parking attendant, but of course, couldn't turn left. So, I ended up on State Rt. 2 W (which would have taken me to Sandusky, but that's out of the way!) and so I took the first exit, and ended up in the flatts. *rolls eyes* So, I pulled over and started up the GPS. I made it back to 71 in about 10 minutes. I did pretty well except a few wrong lanes and some illegal lane changes lol. We made it onto 71 and then stopped in Medina or was is Lodi? One of those, at a Taco Bell. My throat was sooooo dry and hurt like hell.
We made back on 71 and then ran into rain and at one point hail. Funky! We made it home about 2:30 am. I'm soooo tired!!! but I had a great time!!!
