they say it's the same snowstorm we're getting that caused a plane to slip off the runway at midway airport, in chicago. hoo boy. and i'm meeting the electrician at the store at 7 am.
the building inspector did the walk-through today, i heard. my computers got networked ths afternoon. when the electrician hooks up the phone, i can get to work on loading software, with telephonic technical help. i faxed a signed agreement to time warner, who should be able to install stuff in a few business days.
tomorrow will begin either with or without my doing the first snowplowing of the season. we'll see how henry takes it. maybe he'll sleep through, as i need to be up so early. the cattle seem to have departed; the gate to the baryard is open, so i could fetch firewood from there this afternoon. my penzey's spice order arrived in time for me to have crushed red pepper to put in the chicken curry i made for dinner. woo, hot, yum!
25 years ago, and i know just where i was, in the basement hall of my boarding school dorm, when the security guard on his rounds told us lennon was dead. 25 years. jesus. the next morning, the punk (until graduation) i had breakfast work detail duties with had already started telling dead lennon jokes. npr played "in my life," a nice choice. i always picture that last photo shoot, lennon naked, curled up to ono.
mark david chapman is in attica. it's snowing there, too.
