We just saw it this afternoon :-)

The thing with Silver's laptop was dumber than dumb, especially since he'd already proven he was more than sufficiently familiar with their security.

The scenes in Shanghai with the assassin and all the glass and sign illuminations were stunningly gorgeous. I was watching all that and thinking 'Sam Mendes really does not suck!'

One of the biggest gripes that the SO and I had was the question of why Bond only had one major gunshot scar. The one in his shoulder that the plot made such a big deal about was from Patrice shooting him, because they used the bullet remnants to ID him. But wait - Moneypenny shot him with a large calibre rifle. That would have been one dramatic through and through, so where was it?

Haven’t we had enough of ragingly queer bad guys?

I don't in the end think he was queer, or not high percentage. I agreed with you, it annoyed me while it was happening, but than when Bond made it clear he didn't give a fuck, the sexuality was gone, bam, and it never resurfaced. So I think Silver was just poking around for a psychological weakness, and he abandoned that ploy as soon as it was clear it wasn't working. He might have had some bi tendencies, but he could just have well have been straight and done the same thing.

Re: your last paragraph. Yeah, that's what I got from Silver, too. :)
