It is trimmed with silver that won't tarnish and has flat handles on either side. A folded parchment bears this explanation: Any liquid drunk from this bowl will be as good as it can be. That is, any water will be pure and drinkable, the wine that is nearly vinegar will be sweet, poison will lose its power.
