31. Question day! You ask, I'll answer.

30. And tell us what you like about that person as a writer and/or about one of his/her characters!

This question clearly has the actual question part of it missing, so I'm going to assume unpublished authors for this one. Unfortunately, all my favourites either have little to nothing available online to read, or haven't added to their repertoire in years, or don't have it all in one place, but I'll DO MY BEST.

First up, the amaaaazing ladylight, who I constantly feel privileged to have as a friend <3 I found her first on Elfwood, but as many of us from the time have done she's abandoned that account for the green pastures of LJ at soulfiresnippet. I love this girl's stuff a LOT. The Adventures of Of are brilliantly Pythonesque, and the more serious stuff is suitably dark and evil >3 I envy how she can get character into even the 'extras' (like the torch-bearing mobs X3). I love the scope of her worlds and, of course, the fantastic characters that inhabit them. My favourite of her characters has gotta be Lorannon, refreshingly sarcastic wood elf and~ a bit of a git. I love him <3

Next, my fabulous drazzi, who can pull such incredible and original worlds out of her arse in, like, two days, and they already have SO much depth and culture and awesomeness and I envy. So, so much love for my Sallie's worlds. You can get a feel for them so easily and really see just how rich they are. I love the depth of her characters and how they're never what they seem to be on the surface. You can try summing one up in a sentence, but you'll be missing a lot. My favourite switches between War and Death, again because of their depth. Death is the ultimate gentleman and, even when he's got his typically cool, polite façade on, there's always just so much more going on behind his eyes. He's one of the three written characters to have made my hands hurt. War is a git, though he does mean well. Most of the time. He's very much like the Own--complete show-off and as much a man's man as he is a lady's man. I want to hug him lots X3

And a shanra! Who writes kiddies in ways I could only dream of. Telyn is so adorably naive and always asking questions that older characters just wouldn't think of, and it's just gorgeous *^^* I love her~ and her goats XD Shanrie comes up with beautiful concepts, like singing being the base of a magic system, and so much thought and detail goes into the cultures that they seem both real and other-worldly at once, like there really is somewhere out there with their belief systems. I have love~ <3 Tely is probably my favourite, but Vonre is also awesome in his distinguished-gentleman-come-evil-bastard way X3

And then~ Rynnay, who I don't know personally but she's awesome. I don't even know if she's got any writing online anymore. Anyway, her characters are so much fun, and she has a fabulously evocative writing style--I'm sure the arting side of things helps with that, cos my GOD her arts are awesome. I love how real her world is, and the characters in it. You can feel their pain and everything when their hopes are crushed, and it's all very awesome. My favourite of her characters would be Cyrus, who's both an assassin AND a git, what could be better? >D
